Through the new custom colour schemes in Ocean Mist 2.0 site owners will be able to completely customise their site. However, this still requires a certain level of understanding and competance with CSS.
I understand this will not be a problem for most users who will be happy fiddling with the CSS until they have a colour scheme they are happy with, but it occured to me that there are probably a number of users out there who either:
- Don’t have a clue how to edit CSS and would rather not touch it
- Have a specific brand to represent and would prefer their site was customised by a design proffesional
If you think you might fit into either of these groups, would you be interested in a fixed price design customisation service?
You’d need to supply a logo if required, specific colours you’d like to use and any other material which would help describe the design you’d like to acheive. From here I’d mock up the customised design in Photoshop for you to approve or suggest one round of alterations. Then take this design and create a customsed version of the theme which I’d email back to you, ready for you to install.
Is this something you think you might be interested in?

I fall into the users that would be completely comfortable editing the css to work well for my needs, I have coded several of my own designs, though no public releases, so I do have a little experience. However, I think that the idea of a simple, affordable, fixed price editing service is a great idea.
It would be simple enough to start running right from this blog, if people use it you make some money and if they don’t, well then you aren’t really out anything. I think the key to success here would be the price, low enough that it is affordable by most, but not so low that you don’t make any money off the deal.
I hope it works out for you!

My brother is about to dive into the wordpress game. He is thinking of using your template. He may need some help. How much do you charge for your services?

Hi,
I like the new design but how can I control what colour the title of the web page has (in top header). It is set to white but as I wish to have it appear empty, I want the title text to be in the same colour as the bar area… This so I can still have the name of my site appear when people want to subscribe to the feeds…. or just save to Favourites…
MAny thanx in advance,
Regards,
Hal

I love your design, and have noticed it popping up a lot on wordpress.com. I’ve been using Kubrick for almost three years and while I love the SEO and simplicity (sometimes I think I’m cool because I have one of the plainest blogs on the web), I also am beginning to tire of the lack of navigation aids, and I don’t like how it makes users click to open comments.
So I’ve been looking for a good replacement and I love Ocean Mist. I would be interested in paying for a little tweaking so it doesn’t look identical to everyone else’s. I’m not sure if you are still in the game. All your posts are pretty old. If you’re still into this, drop me a line and let me know what you think might be involved.
